Ci ha lasciato un uomo, un maestro, un imprenditore, uno dei tantissimi pionieri dell’eccellenza italiana il quale, con tanto coraggio e volontà ferrea mista ad una enorme umiltà, ha saputo creare un codice di qualità e stile tutto Italiano famoso nel mondo.

Una grande passione per la calzoleria, una gavetta durissima iniziata come ciabattino a Greve in chianti in un negozio umido e con molti dubbi ma una sola certezza: che dentro al suo cuore c’erano già le meravigliose calzature che avrebbe prodotto per gli anni a seguire e che sarebbero passati alla storia come oggetti di culto dell’Ars sutoria.
L’azienda porta il nome del suo fondatore ed attuale proprietario Stefano Bemer. Apre il primo negozio di riparazioni da autodidatta nel 1983 a Greve in Chianti.
Si trasferisce poi a Firenze nel 1987 e sviluppa, con l’ausilio di un maestro, l’esperienza nella costruzione di scarpe su Misura, completando tale formazione con un corso di disegno e modelleria. “Sbagliando si impara” è stata la filosofia formativa dei primi anni di attività, da allora ad adesso la bottega si è trasformata in impresa ma senza mai perdere di vista la qualità e le lavorazioni esclusivamente artigianali nel pieno rispetto dell’Artigianato.

Attualmente il nome Stefano Bemer è collocato tra i più noti calzolai d’Europa per la sua qualità e professionalità dimostrata
nella lavorazione del “vero” su misura. Tra i suoi clienti si annoverano i piu’ grossi nomi della finanza e dell’imprenditoria mondiale. La calzatura considerata da Bemer come un involucro confortevole e al tempo stesso di grande gusto e raffinatissima nella lavorazione e nei pellami.
Negli anni l’esperienza del “su misura” (che è la più completa del settore calzaturiero)
è stata messa a disposizione di aziende del settore della moda.
Nel 2000 nasce la linea Prêt-à-porter con l’apertura del primo negozio monomarca in Giappone dove riscuote un notevole successo di critica e di vendite e nel 2005 parte la collaborazione con la ditta Valextra di Milano, la quale affida a Stefano Bemer la produzione di calzature con il doppio nome Stefano Bemer™ e Valextra™.

L’attore, all’inizio del 2000, si trasferì in città per imparare l’arte della calzoleria nella bottega di borgo San Frediano accanto a Stefano Bemer. Poi un giorno arrivò lì Martin Scorsese e Daniel approdò sul set di ‘Gangs of New York’, il resto lo conosciamo tutti.
