Driven by a dark aesthetic with a hard-edged sensuality, the APHID look is defined by its construction. The modernist design of strong, architectural silhouettes is underpinned by our attention to detail, commitment to creative pattern cutting and use of unexpected, textured fabrics. The fit and feel of the clothes is always at the front of our mind during the design process, lending our minimal pieces a subtle sexiness. This innovative approach to cut and fabric is echoed in our fascination with translating contemporary luxury to a digital arena, bridging the gap between the virtual and the tactile.

The debut collection, Autumn/Winter 2016, explores the experimental feminine forms and volumes that are our signature. The primarily black palette is given depth through contrasting textures and finishes, such as the juxtaposition of sheer and solid fabrics. The collection is punctuated with graphic architectural prints, which create a strong statement transferred onto technical woven textiles. AW16 also shows our use of superior fabrics: eveningwear comes in fluid Italian silk blends, outerwear in bonded wools, premium leathers and shearling. We also take an innovative approach to fabric and construction. Bonded and technical textiles show off the unexpected silhouettes and details; hemlines cut on a square and asymmetric tucks and folds, created as a result of experimenting with the fabric, draping it directly on the model.
